The Iron Giant is my favourite movie of all time. Brad Bird is considered somewhat of a God among us animation folks, and this movie easily demonstrates why.
It makes me laugh until my sides hurt, sit on the edge of my seat, and seriously makes me fight back tears - THAT is a movie. Most of the time when someone says, "I love you," in film you're kinda like yea yea yea thats real cheesy. But damn, when Hogarth says it to Giant near the end it's so heartfelt - it's so real - because you love him too. I love him.
